Stand Out With Creativity At Your Meetings

You may be the person always with your hand raised at your office meetings. Or you may be one of the many who pitches their two-sense in occasionally—not to say you’re not good at what you do at all, because when you do speak everyone listens. But not all the time, there are times where you aren’t being listened to or like me, you find yourself battling with your top team members. I like to inspire creative competition so I am vocal with anything I do which turns out to be a good thing. Creativity is all about presentation, how you word things, or visually set up something. I like to creatively incorporate different techniques to win over my teammates in office meetings:

Example #1 –Rebuttal

Debates in the office are great, because you are here two sides, of two potentially great ideas. I am fast to say ‘no, I don’t think that would work, let’s try this.’ Always have 2 or 3 ideas to bring up, incase 2 are shot down when you take the stand; the third one will either take the gold, or take the silver and be added into the mix. I really studied everyone including my professor during my oral communication classes in college. I also take notes on how great debaters like our presidents have gone to beat their opponents in verbal battles. It has helped me out a lot, to win, and to know how to take a lost. When you know the exact reasons why you lost at something opposed to trying hard and not cutting it, it’s easier to find humor and say ‘better luck next time.’

Example #2 – Elaboration

It’s very skillful to think on your feet, and I’ve been blessed with the ability. I never steal credit; I’ll include the person all the way through the process and even pitch how they can pursue my concept. But the thing that gives me points is the fact that I was able to elaborate on a simple idea and make a blueprint out of something someone mentioned.

Example#3 --- Originality

You are so different from everyone you meet, you truly are. Only two people share the exact same characteristics as you, and it’s either your significant other, or your best friend—both are not at work with you so you got something to offer. I think romanticism, romanticism in the world, objects, between people and business. So I see things from a very logical point of view and express them in abstract manners. This has always been my thing; I can take something normal and give it attractive, and purely golden properties like King Midas
