How To Transition A Summer Dress to Fall

No need to put away your warm weather clothes after Labor Day. Transition your favorite summer dresses to for fall by mixing in pieces that are on trend for next season.

Add layers. Top a flirty fitted sundress with a simple cardigan and add some tights and a pair of ankle or knee boots. Play with tights in different colors and patterns for a variety of looks.

A fun floral sundress looks great with an edgy leather jacket for a nice blend of soft and strong elements.

Try wearing a knee-length sweater coat over a short sleeve dress.

Have a long maxi dress? Layer it under a thin top or sweater for a stylish look. Go with a sheer top if you want to show off the dress and highlight the layered effect.

Not sure what to do with that lightweight sheath dress? Put a long sleeve fitted top under the dress in a color that contrasts and pops.

Switch out your open toe heels and strappy sandals for flats, boots or pumps.

Don’t be afraid to mix-and-match different pieces with your summer dresses. Keep it simple or go a little wild with color.
