How to get a job as a seamstress.
Aside from the ability to sew, a seamstress must have knowledge of fabrics, linings, zippers, buttons, cutting patterns and be attentive to detail. Look in the classifieds and online when looking for work. Before you go on an interview, prepare a portfolio with photos of the work you have done. Bring along your resume along with some small physical samples of your work. Temporarily, you may have to get a job at a neighborhood dry cleaning shop that do alterations. After you have some experience under your belt you will be able to land a job at the big corporations or even fashion designers. | ||||
