What to add to your make-up from a day time look at work to a nighttime look
Need your makeup looking office chic by day to dazzling for evening? Just add a few touches of color to change your look from day to night in just minutes.
For daytime:
Apply makeup lightly and keep it looking natural. You will look brighter and refreshed. Stick with neutral tones and do not wear any colors that may be distracting.
Put on a thin layer of foundation that matches your skin tone and blush in a pale peach or rose that makes you look naturally flush.
Apply mascara sparingly. Wear lip gloss or a nude or neutral color lipstick.
For day, stay away from any makeup products that shimmer.
For nighttime:
By evening, your face may be a bit dehydrated. Apply a moisturizing foundation to look fresh. Add a concealer to hide any blemishes or red spots.
Now is when you add shimmer:
Touch-up your blush and add a bit more on the apples of your cheeks. If you are going to be in a dark environment – such as a dimly lit restaurant – apply a more dramatic blush than you would wear during the day.
Brighten your existing shade of blush with one sweep of a gold-tinted powder or bronzer for a sun-kissed look.
Line your lids with dark eyeliner and apply darker shades of eye shadow – such as black, charcoals and grays – for a smoky eye.
Wear a bold lipstick, but be sure to balance out your look. Go with either a bright lip or sultry eyes, not both. If you choose bold lips, go easy on the eye makeup. Prefer bold eyes? Coordinate with a demure lip color.
