Job Summary/Description:
Be a leader! Run your own department! The Production Manager has the responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Technical Media Producer (TMP) staff. This position ensures the team effectively executes directing live or pre-recorded productions as assigned, monitoring WHSV’s on-air signals, transmitter, FCC obligations, and ingesting daily programming and commercials. Regular assignments involve directing newscasts, directing station productions, and various elements for the web channel.
Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
• Scheduling, supervising and training Technical Media Producer (TMP) staff
• Work with the news department to produce high quality newscasts
• Ingesting shows and commercials for later playback; playing back and monitoring shows and commercials for ABC, CBS, FOX, Mynet, and The Circle
• Overdrive operation, coding and playing of live local newscasts for both ABC, CBS and FOX news affiliates
• Keep appropriate records to maintain station FCC compliance
• Ability to monitor and fix problems with logs
• Ability to work weekends and duties as assigned
• Operation of Edius and or Adobe Premiere editing software
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Live newscast experience, MCO experience, ingesting show and commercial material
• Great communication skills and problem-solving ability
• Knowledge of AP ENPS, Ross Overdrive, Vision, Crispin, Harris Automation, VizRT Graphics and VizTicker
• Highly skilled with Windows based computer systems. Additional IT knowledge or experience a plus
• Able to work a flexible schedule
• This is a department head position. Must be passionate about leading, training, and growing our production team • Must work well with other station leaders
