This is a hybrid on-site/remote role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Sacramento office location. In order to work on Company premises, or with clients / members of the public at other locations, Bonneville employees must provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or evidence of a negative COVID-19 test within the previous seven days.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Bonneville Sacramento is looking for a passionate leader to oversee, manage, and contribute to content across our KHTK Sports 1140 digital platforms with the goal of growing and maximizing our audience. The ideal candidate for this position demonstrates strong editorial skills and sound news judgment with experience reporting or writing for a print publication or online news/sports outlet. This is a unique position that requires extreme flexibility, including work on weekends, evenings, etc. In addition, the position requires the flexibility and dependability to work additional hours during breaking news and other big sporting events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the KHTK digital content team and lead digital strategy to grow multi-platform content, audience, and engagement
Develop, coach, and train the KHTK digital content team
Analyze and actively use data and metrics to inform editorial and strategic decisions and to create accountability for results
Create unique, engaging, shareable content that is consistent with the brand, ensuring that website and social channels are continually fresh from both a content, as well as a graphical perspective
Develop and organize a distribution plan of content across KHTK’s digital platforms.
Make regular appearances on different KHTK Sports 1140 programs to promote website and digital content.
Work closely with Program Director, Sales Team, and Talent to promote and increase the monetizable engagement of audiences
REQURIED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Ability to generate highly creative, compelling sports programming for multi-platform distribution. May require the production and gathering of text, images, audio/video, etc.
Deep understanding of sports, including strong knowledge of the Sacramento sports scene and the KHTK brand
Able to work independently with little supervision. Requires a track record of dependability and evidence of a being self-starter.
Strong understanding of the current digital and social media landscape and ability to engage with the audience on these platforms
Experience analyzing audience data and identifying behavioral trends
Must be willing to offer ideas, suggestions, and other initiatives for the company
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Capable of managing multiple projects and teams on an on-going basis
5-7 years of content experience, including 2-5 years managing others
4-year degree (journalism, communications) or equivalent experience in the field
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively
Substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.

Ability to consistently work hours required. Position requires extreme flexibility; able to work evenings, weekends, odd hours, etc. to ensure that digital properties are continually updated and fresh. Flexibility to work during breaking news and other big news events required. Willing to update content remotely from home and elsewhere as needed

Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
Maintain confidentiality by not discussing internal matters, company strategies, client’s proprietary information, personnel matters, wage and salary information or any sensitive information with clients, competitors, listeners, the media or inappropriately with co-workers, and by not distributing our proprietary research or other information to our competitors
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in and actively support Bonneville’s EEO policy as it relates to recruitment, selection, evaluation, compensation, training, promotion, and termination. Includes being knowledgeable and conversant with the FCC EEO Rules effective March 10, 2003, and understanding the compliance issues that safeguard the station’s FCC license.
