Merchandising Analyst
Function: Sales
Department: Merchandising
Reports to: Supply Chain Merchandiser and/or Sales Controller
Direct Reports: None
Overall Job Function: Responsible for supporting the Supply Chain Merchandiser and/or Merchandiser with product management and maximizing sales and profitability for a subset of H&M�s concepts.
Job Responsibility including but not limited to:
Supports Supply Chain team in preparing reporting on selling and logistics KPI�s.
Conducts ad hoc analyses for strategic projects managed by Supply Chain team.
Maintains and updates allocation system settings to ensure optimal selling outcomes.
Works with the Concept Merchandiser to ensure the vision for the concept on a short as well as a long-term basis are secured.
Gives input to the Concept Merchandiser regarding the concept to get the most competitive collection for the US market, in terms of big type beliefs, price, quantities, etc.
Support in maintaining overview of the garment flow on the concept, including allocation of key items such as TPP�s and campaign orders while also FUP on size availability and act accordingly.
Support in setting the allocation strategy on store segments for select concepts and update it in correspondence to selling and stock.
Support in optimizing the balance between selling and stock for the supported concept across the market, region and districts.
Optimize stock balance between new and previous seasons with allocation.
Act with replenishment when demand exceeds supply or vice versa.
Provides in-depth sales analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities within the one or several concepts on a weekly and quarterly basis.
Assists with actions on strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities by planning sales activities, reductions and store actions in close collaboration with the merchandiser, display and marketing departments.
Support in creating department book updates and indications connected to campaign launches and early setup implementation.
Conducts store visits to follow up planned actions to actual result in the store, and to identify business opportunities of the concept.
Financial Accountability:
In tandem with merchandiser, responsible for subconcept and concept sales in all store locations and maximizing profitability by a cost conscious approach in the reduction activities.
Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelor�s Degree, preferably in business or merchandising or equivalent store retail experience.
1-3 years of Merchandising, Buying, Planning, Allocation experience for another retailer
Competencies:
Sales driven and results-oriented.
Strong interest in fashion and understanding of the garment product flow.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Very Strong analytical skills.
Detail oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Must be able to make decisions and take own initiative.
Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
Ability to coach and train all levels of employees on subject expert knowledge.
Minimum 20% domestic travel is required
