Copywriter

We are looking for a creative communicator who can help us tell our story as a full-time, in-house copywriter. Our services are available to millions of individuals, but more people need to know they have access to our amazing professionals and resources. As a member of our creative team, the copywriter will help write clear, compelling copy for various mediums that will inform and engage target audiences, including our current member base as well as prospective customers. The copywriter will also help to develop the MSA voice and brand and will support other creative professionals in the development of marketing materials and campaigns, effectively communicating our brand, product and offerings.
OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE
• Write fresh, clear copy with a distinct voice that connects with target audiences and drives desired action
• Assist in the development, maintenance and execution of MSA’s voice and tone across all channels and copy
• Continually raise the bar on creativity
• Thrive in fast-paced environment with high-volume workload with often short turnaround times
• Interpret copywriting briefs to understand project and campaign requirements. Projects vary widely and may include newsletters, sales collateral, product launch materials, case studies, white papers, website and app messaging and more
• Collaborate with designers and other professionals in Product, Sales, Technology and Marketing on member communications and external marketing materials and campaigns from concept development to delivery of final product
• Research and thoroughly understand varied target audiences
• Revise, edit and proofread copy as needed
• Use SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
• BA/BS in English, Marketing, journalism or other related field from an accredited college
• Minimum 5 years of experience as copywriter or related role working in member communications and/or external marketing communications
Skills
• Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Willingness to learn; coachable
• Ability to learn new concepts and material quickly
• Able to translate technical financial concepts into plain, accessible language
• Approaches work, relationships and change with positivity
• Independent self-starter, great work ethic
• Uses time efficiently to produce high quality work product
• Prioritizes diverse workload to meet objectives and seeks input as needed
• Works with teams and asks the right questions to deliver timely collateral
• Experience with SEO
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT), Google Business Suite (Gmail)
