Purpose and Scope: Responsible for development & production phase of fabric and managing the flow of communication and changes to all factories/agents/mills/suppliers/staff that relate to raw materials.
Work closely with design and merchandising on fabric issues that concern MU goals
Collaborate with fabric R&D on sourcing decisions
Responsible for obtaining completed mill cards and accurate input of data into Web PDM and excel charts in a timely manner
Position proto, sample, and advanced bulk yardage as required
Initiate and track all developments strike offs, lab dips, etc and work with design and merchandising toward approvals to ensure on time delivery of proto, sample and bulk fabrics
Negotiate procurement of quality fabric with minimal lead time and competitive price. Write p.o.s where required
Arrange testing and inspection of fabrics and maintain related results and records in compliance with TDCR
Work in conjunction with suppliers, factories and internal production, design and merchandising partners to resolve any fabric issues including delays and quality problems
Input and/or verify fabric details into the production tech pack and raw materials master to insure accuracy of raw material information in the tech pack
Create and maintain accurate mill cards and confirm fabric prices
Pass fabric and lining standards seasonally to agents and mills
Bulk fabric approvals & shade lots
Liaison between suppliers and factories on bulk fabric issues
Monitor fabric and raw material information in the WIP (Work-In-Progress) to insure on-time garment deliveries
Responsible for troubleshooting fabric & lining and delivery issues and proactively communicating to factories, agents and suppliers to insure on-time garment deliveries
Manage the deadlines, provide info, submit and approve on time
Attend production status meetings
Maintaining the fabric and lining library.
1 to 2 years experience
Technical knowledge of woven and knit fabrics
Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills with detailed attention to products
Ability to communicate and interact with all cross functional teams
Strong general computer and excel skills.
